אפרט (ákri) is a Greek word that translates as threshold or boundary. It forms the first part of the compound word ακροβασία (acrobatics). This can be translated as “walk on the limit” or “walk on the threshold”.
Ákri is a contemporary circus solo that reflects on the craft through the object of the scale. A staircase that represents a transit zone between two spaces, while also forming part of the artist identity, as an acrobatic device that often accompanies him on stage.
How do we live the time that passes between two moments? How do we inhabit these non-places that, like a staircase, are not meant to be inhabited? How do we walk through the threshold?
The singularity of the project lies in the mix of disciplines: theatre, manipulation of objects, acrobatic movement and clowning.
Always in search of irony and simplicity, Manel Rosés is an acrobat born in Barcelona. He is co-founder of the Soon Circus Company and has worked in companies such as Circo EIA, Cirque du Soleil and Escarlata.
This is an open rehearsal of a stage project still in the process of creation.
