Public support for contemporary creation
Crea en Xarxa is a public support programme for contemporary creation that champions cooperation between public creation centres and key cultural actors, the circulation of projects and the strengthening of the professional fabric of the performing arts. The initiative is driven collaboratively by:
- Roca Umbert – Fàbrica de les Arts (Granollers)
- L’Estruch – Fàbrica de Creació de les Arts en Viu (Sabadell)
- Convent de les Arts – (Alcover)
- El Canal – Centre de Creació d’Arts Escèniques (Salt)
And the participation of the Direcció General de Drets Culturals, Creació i Biblioteques del Departament de Cultura and the collaboration in the pilot trial of FiraTàrrega and the Plataforma d’Arts de Carrer (PAC).
Consolidating a shared model
Crea en Xarxa is born with the aim of consolidating a shared model of public support for performing arts creation, highlighting the value of collaboration between municipal creation centres and sector organisations.
The objectives are to promote the circulation of residencies in public creation centres across Catalonia, to foster artistic creation and the opening of creative processes to citizens and the local community, to generate spaces for connection between creators, programmers and sector professionals, to provide economic, logistical and mentoring support for creative processes, and to offer artistic, technical and professional development accompaniment.
Pilot Crea en Xarxa – Arts de Carrer
The programme begins with Crea en Xarxa – Arts de Carrer, a pilot focused on street arts, a key area of contemporary performing arts creation due to its direct relationship with public space, citizens and territory. Crea en Xarxa – Street Arts aims to drive artistic research and production in open and accessible contexts, contributing to the consolidation of a more plural and connected creative ecosystem, and reinforcing cultural rights by guaranteeing access, participation and diversity in cultural life.
Open call to select four street arts projects
Crea en Xarxa – Arts de Carrer has launched an open call to select four street arts projects in the creation phase that will be developed between 2026 and 2027, with a planned premiere in September 2027. All information and the application procedure can be found in the call’s terms and conditions.
Selected companies will participate in a support programme that includes eight weeks of residency spread across the different participating creation centres, with the possibility of extension depending on the specific needs of each project.
The programme offers:
- Artistic, technical and strategic accompaniment
- External mentoring specialised in street arts
- Technical and logistical resources
- Activities open to citizens
- Spaces for connection with programmers and professionals
Each project will receive funding of 25,000 euros.
The call is aimed at professional companies with a consolidated track record and fiscal address in Catalonia.
