With the aim to support theatrical creation, one of the focuses of El Canal’s work is dramaturgy, understood as the art of composing dramatic works. Within theatrical creation, dramaturgical writing is the most virgin stage of the creative process and the most embryonic moment of a future stage work.

Dramaturgy plays a very key role in the creation process of any stage work. For this reason, El Canal wants to contribute to training around playwriting and to the revaluation of this discipline, creating a space where the professional group can meet physically, work side by side, share ideas and debate different points of view and the experiences of the profession. Moved by inclusion and an aspiration for transversality, El Canal aims to welcome and work on theatrical writing from the contemporary world, embracing new dramaturgies and innovative creative processes, without losing sight of the needs and concerns of the professional collective of the territory.
