Presentation of the book ‘Empirical Flamenco’ by Juan Carlos Lérida

After a lifetime dedicated to flamenco dance and the search for a personal way to build himself as a dancer, choreographer and flamenco teacher, Juan Carlos Lérida has compiled his methodology in a book. The foundations of the book will be presented, with a previous overview of Juan Carlos Lérida’s career and his special connection with Girona and Salt since 1997.
The book “El método Flamenco Empírico” is published by the Institut del Teatre (Diputació de Barcelona) within the collection of Pedagogical Materials in 2023, and is edited by journalist Sara Esteller and was published in 2023.
The activity will have a space for debate between the author and the audience and aims to give visibility to methodological processes that put the body as the focus of attention and how these can be transmitted in inclusive ways.
