El Canal — Centre for the Creation of the Performing Arts — publishes the results of the 2025–2026 open calls: 54 projects were submitted to the Resident Companies Program (6 selected), and 37 proposals to the 2026 Creation Spaces Program (30 space-use authorizations for January–December 2026). At El Canal we work to ensure that creative processes have real conditions: time, spaces, tools, and a return to the community.

Commitment to the community

Growth and network: a key year for consolidating El Canal
Over the past year, more than 50 companies have passed through El Canal’s spaces across residencies, work-in-progress showings and mediation activities. In parallel, the centre has expanded its network of collaborations with festivals, markets and creation centres: new agreements with La Grainerie (Balma, FR), Convent de les Arts (Alcover), C.IN.E. (Sineu, Mallorca) and Roca Umbert (Granollers), adding to existing accords with La Central del Circ, the Government of Andorra, L’Estruch, Fira Mediterrània, FiraTàrrega, Mercat de les Flors and Nau Ivanow. This ecosystem ensures that El Canal’s co-productions set out with solid preparation and a stable distribution circuit, with a growing national and international presence.
“El Canal is a place where processes find time, space and allies. This year’s resolution consolidates trajectories and opens new bridges between artists, the community and professional networks,” notes the El Canal team.
