Alipori collective
Alipori is a performance collective made up of three creators who met at university. What began as one of their final degree projects soon turned into a shared project.
They share the same sense of discomfort: not knowing how to behave “as you’re supposed to” or fit into what is expected of an adult woman. From this place, they work with shame as their raw material —their own and that of others— in order to face it head-on, explore what “ridiculous” means and who gets to set its boundaries.
They are drawn to that uncomfortable space where the body withdraws and the external gaze weighs more than one’s own voice. And it is precisely there that the game begins: exposing themselves, challenging expectation and transforming shared discomfort into stage language. The result is a body of work that questions the notion of normality and opens up a space of critical complicity with the audience.
Verecundia
Residency February and May 2026
Selected for the Emergents Programme — Impuls a la creació at El Canal, VERECUNDIA is a piece created and performed by three young women who explore shame, ridicule and vulnerability through their own bodies and experiences. The work delves into shared discomfort: the place where the body contracts under the gaze of others and the intimate becomes public.
Drawing on everyday situations that reveal the weight of what is expected of an “adult woman”, the piece reaches its emotional core: the absence of the father (through death or lack of presence). From this shared wound, the performers construct a space of extreme exposure where shame becomes a strategy for survival. On stage, three orphanage beds and uniform–pyjamas evoke a fragile, symbolic universe, while the audience is invited to break the fourth wall and become both witness and accomplice.
Between laughter, discomfort and tenderness, VERECUNDIA is a collective ritual that turns shame into language, ridicule into resistance and absence into shared presence. The project is co-produced and supported by El Canal and benefits from three weeks of residency between February and May 2026.
