L’Obrador d’Arrel is the promotion and support program for Fira Mediterrània artists, a support program for creators who present new artistic proposals based on popular and traditional culture. The entity will accompany up to twenty artistic proposals and among them are two El Canal co-productions: the project by the musician Momi Maiga and that of the emerging company MALSAI Produccions.
Among the musical proposals, the Obrador will support Momi Maiga, a young Senegalese virtuous of the kora. He will present Kairo, a new album where he will display his mix of jazz, flamenco and Mediterranean sounds, among others. Within this category, there are also other renowned musicians such as Roger Mas, Arnau Tordera or Marc Parrot.
Among the proposals for memory, legacy and oral narration, it includes Calla, Judit, calla by MALSAI Produccions, a piece where Clàudia Ferrer will perform a monologue on the memory of textile factories and the importance of spiritualism in social upheavals that there was It is accompanied by the projects of Pau Gómez, Andrea Cruz and Toni Masegosa, or the company De_paper.
