Aurora Bauzà & Pere Jou
Aurora Bauzà and Pere Jou are composers, creators and performers at the forefront of the performing arts. His main research revolves around the human voice and its intricate connections with the body, movement, space, the stage and light. His compositions go beyond the traditional limits of artistic genres, treating music as a multidimensional entity with physical, scenic, visual, dramatic, expressive and poetic qualities.
Bauzà and Jou have presented several stage works in recent years. These explore the human voice and the complexity of identity from different perspectives, formats and scenic devices, all unified by their commitment to create dramatic narratives through the human voice. His unique artistic approach involves a physical and movement practice that decomposes the resonant movement of sound (song) into visual movement, creating a distinctive interaction. The choreography, seen through an acoustic lens, merges fluidly with the musical composition, forming the essence and dramaturgical structure of his interdisciplinary work.
Born in Mallorca and Barcelona, respectively, Aurora Bauzà and Pere Jou bring an obsessive curiosity to understand the contemporary human being through the mechanisms of meaning creation, especially those involved in the construction of individual and collective identities. His works, such as «I Am (T)here» or «A BEGINNING_expanded version», have been featured in prestigious events such as the Barcelona Greek Festival, demonstrating his commitment to exploring the boundaries between sound, bodies and movement, and inviting the public to question the limits of perception and identity. Recently, his piece «A BEGINNING #16161D» has been selected for the Twenty24 edition of AEROWAVES.

LOBO
Residence March 2025
LOBO is a stage research project that starts from the composition for 6 voices De lamentatione Ieremiæ Prophetæ by Alonso Lobo (1555-1624). Through the hybridization between choreography, musical composition and light research, LOBO wants to find new tools for contemporary stage creation. By placing otherness at the center of the dramaturgical research, it creates a stage and sensorial framework where the audience projects longings and laments around the relationship between individuals and what constitutes us as a community.
LOBO is a space full of light, where 6 people expose themselves, relate to each other, build and destroy, show themselves and hide themselves. It is an open space where everything is exposed. Without words, without text. Just a song. Just a body. Just a song without text. An ancient song, written in 1602. A song that laments. Bodies that yearn. LOBO is a piece about light, about what we expose in it, but, above all, about what remains unsaid between lamentation and longing.
