El Canal opens the call for the 2026 Resident Companies Program
Until June 4, living arts projects in the production phase can be submitted
El Canal de Salt opens tomorrow, May 21, the call for the 2026 Resident Companies Program, aimed at artists, companies and professional performing arts groups working in the field of living arts. The program offers co-production, artistic residency and technical support for a maximum of six projects that will be developed between January and December 2026.
The selected projects will receive a co-production of €14,900 + VAT, an artistic residency in El Canal spaces and technical support during the creative process. In addition, they will have to carry out three mediation actions with the territory, such as open rehearsals, talks or workshops, in order to bring the creative process closer to citizens and strengthen the link with the local community.
The selection criteria will assess the artistic interest of the project, its viability, the quality of the mediation actions, the link with the Girona scene and the use of the Catalan language. An artistic commission made up of eight professionals from the national and international performing arts sector will be responsible for assessing the proposals.
Companies that have already had projects co-produced by El Canal during 2024 will not be able to apply.
