On Thursday, July 18th, El Canal took part in the first edition of Brots de Circ, a professional meeting organized by the Catalan Circus Professionals Association (APCC) and the Catalan Circus Impulse Plan 2023–2026. The event was held as part of the 30th Street Circus Fair in La Bisbal d’Empordà.
Brots de Circ is designed to showcase new circus creations in progress and foster connections between artists and cultural programmers across Catalonia. Ten selected companies participated in this inaugural edition, including three of El Canal’s current residents:

The event is part of the Residencies and Co-Productions measure of the Impulse Plan, aiming to strengthen the conditions for creation and production, and to support the development and touring of circus projects throughout the region.
For El Canal, it was a valuable opportunity to present the ongoing work of its resident artists, and to contribute to the growth and visibility of contemporary circus in Catalonia.
