Xavier Bobés
Xavier Bobés (Barcelona, 1977) is a theatre creator who describes himself as self-taught. Passionate about the poetics of objects, he has spent the last twenty years researching all kinds of everyday objects. He collaborates with other artists as a creation advisor in object dramaturgy and delves into the symbolic and theatrical content of what appears to be banal through creation, rehearsal and teaching.
He has created around ten performances, including El mar: visió d’uns nens que no l’han vist mai (with Alberto Conejero, 2022), Corpus (2020), Cosas que se olvidan fácilmente (2015), Insomni (2011), El rei de la Soledat (2007) and El cap als núvols (2004).
In the exhibition field, he has signed the object-based installations Restos de Cosas (LaVolta de Sant Narcís, Girona, 2020), the visual and sound installation NO (Sala Sebastià Gasch, Mercat de les Flors, Barcelona; Creadors en Residència–ICUB, 2014), Radiografia (Sala 15, Museu Comarcal de la Garrotxa, Olot, 2011) and the interactive installation La memòria dels objectes (Sala Bòlit d’Art Contemporani, Girona, 2009).
He teaches workshops at schools and festivals such as the Obrador de la Sala Beckett, the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona, Escola Elisava, ERAM in Girona and UNIMA.
His career has been recognised with the Premi FAD Sebastià Gasch 2005–2006, the Premi de la Crítica de Barcelona 2015, the Premi Butaca 2016 and the Premi Drac d’Or del Jurat Internacional 2023 (Fira de Titelles de Lleida).

Per estimar per intentar trobar-te ara is a creative process that opens up a period of object-based research grounded in the poetics of clothing and body-related accessories. The object poetics of mourning is its central axis.
The project arises from the desire to restore a place to the “things” that lose it: silence, the memory of ancestors, the sustained gaze and, in synthesis, empathy. As an homage to those who are no longer here, it proposes a ritual object theatre and documentary piece, based on a chain of poetic actions that weave collective, intimate and universal imaginaries. From this weave emerges a score of affections and attentions that slowly fade until they become history and inventory.
