Som noise
Som Noise is a Catalan–Argentinian company based in Barcelona and Toulouse, founded at the end of 2017 by Mati Muñoz and Thaïs Julià. Their work explores the dialogue between circus and music within a political, experimental and poetic framework.
Their first piece, Breach (2021), is a poetic reflection on sexual violence through the stage languages of aerial rope and electric drums. Co-produced by Mercat de les Flors and supported by circusnext+, La Grainerie, ARTCENA, Berlin Circus Festival, La Central del Circ, Circo a Escena, Fira Trapezi, OSIC, ICEC, IRLL, Teatre Principal de Terrassa, Konvent and L’Estruch, among others, the piece has been presented more than 30 times across Europe and Latin America.
The company is currently in the final phase of its second creation, hybr-id, scheduled to premiere on 24 April 2026 at the Teatre de Tarragona.

Two human bodies, cables, loudspeakers and electronic instruments sway, all of them hanging in suspension. We discover a technological and musical jungle governed either by harmony or dystopia, by respect or human arrogance. Everything gravitates, sounds and moves equally: objects and bodies come to life and become parts of the same organism. An invitation to the pleasure of giving oneself over to the other, of floating in a hypnotic state. But not forever.
hybr-id is an experiment at the threshold between circus body, music and sound matter. It offers a gaze on human hegemony that calls for a more respectful listening towards living materiality and the environment that inhabits us and that we inhabit.
The project is currently in its final creation phase, with a premiere scheduled for April 2026 at the Teatre de Tarragona. Conceived in 2022 from an idea by Thaïs Julià—an obsession with jack cables and the desire to merge the body with cables and loudspeakers, placing the aerial rope at the service of these materialities— hybr-id grows in dialogue with the musical universe of Mati Muñoz, in the midst of a shift towards electronics. From this emerges a dystopian, suspended landscape in which hierarchies between circus bodies and the body of music are questioned. The company will complete two key weeks: a technical lighting residency with Gabriela Bianchi and dramaturgical mentoring with Olga Álvarez.
