LaSADCUM

laSADCUM is a dance project created in Barcelona in 2019 by Guillem Jiménez (Barcelona, 1999), whose artistic line combines onstage risk, formal research and a pop imaginary.

It has created two small-format pieces —THE UNCANNY VALLEY (2019) and THE LESSON (2020)— and two large-format works —ACLUCALLS (2022) and NAVAJA (2024)— presented in contexts such as Teatros del Canal (Madrid), De Singel (Antwerp), CCCB (Barcelona), Paral·lel 62 (Barcelona), TEM (València), Tanečnon (Namestovo) and Teatre Principal de Palma (Mallorca), among others.

It has also developed educational and mediation programmes, and has created two exhibitions: CLASSMATES (2020) and TWINK TWINK TWINK (2022).

Key awards that consolidate the company’s trajectory include: ACT AWARD 2021 for Best Short International Dance Piece for THE LESSON; the Jury Prize at Festival 10Sentidos 2021 for THE LESSON; PalmaDansa 2024 for Best Show for NAVAJA; and DansaCat 2024 for Best Show for NAVAJA, as well as Best Choreography and Best Sound Design for ACLUCALLS.

Everafter

Residency February, June and August 2026

EVERAFTER is a promise of the future that dissects the technofeudalism of digital capitalism through the archetype of the “intern”.
It operates through edging and worldglimpsing logics and incorporates mechanics from video games, superheroes and musicals. For this piece, the fictional company WKW III has been created, “collaborating” with laSADCUM and turning the performance itself into yet another strategy of corporate promotion.
The work questions branding and marketing as supposed engines of emancipation, exposing their limits through irony and stage play.
