Las Espectadoras
Las Espectadoras is an emerging company formed by Aina Minguell and Aitana López that was born with the desire to carry out scenic creations after performing their final degree work together at ERAM, where they studied together and defined as an artistic couple, they investigate and build a hybrid scene between the movement of bodies, body narrative, dance, text and sound space.
As a company they are strongly influenced by the theater of the absurd and they like to research and work in applied methodology based on the arts and in analytical methodology based on references. Two friends who have a very similar vision of the world and of art and this means that they have found a speaker space to communicate with viewers who hopefully take something away from them, a piece of the most essential and human thing.
Tribute a les rats (2024) is her first stage creation as a group and also her presentation letter as a company, creators and actresses in the professional world.
Tribut to Rats
Residency September – October 2024
Tribute to the Rats is a piece born from a social and generational context that places the issues of the woman’s body on everyone’s lips.
It is also a tribute to all the people who at some point have felt identified with this animal and have therefore been excluded from the social context. A stage duet starring Aina Minguell and Aitana López who come to life in the characters of Dolores and Angustia, two grandmothers who could perfectly be their possible future grandmothers fictionalized in the universe of the absurd, who lets see the real universe.
The key concept of the piece is the indefinability of monstrosity and the fact of living on the margins of the social sphere, paying the rejection and the consequences of not being part of it anymore.
Two evicted grandmothers living inside two garbage cans decide to celebrate their last birthday at a fast food restaurant.
