La Resistencia Teatre

The emerging company La Resistència Teatre was born in Menorca in October 2019 with the aim of promoting unity, collaboration and innovation within the artistic community of the Balearic Islands.

Its main goals include researching new theatrical languages, decentralizing culture and supporting other independent companies, with a focus on sustainability at all stages of the creative process. In addition, they have produced five theater shows and organized the Ibero-American independent theater festival of Menorca (FITIM).
The group is made up of versatile artists who collaborate with other local and international professionals on each project. In their latest work, “YO SOY UNA FIESTA”, they have worked with the choreographer and director Lola Vera.

After the unexpected death of her grandmother, Ángela decides to embark on her grief, bringing back the logic of this world. What she doesn’t know is that this process will lead her to another conflict that she was denying. Now he doesn’t have a grandmother, but he doesn’t have a mother either.

YSUF talks about identity, of these two young women but also of everyone. Of our stories as granddaughters, as daughters, the place occupied by those women, tradition and its clash with current reality.

How do you celebrate all the years grandma was there? What is your favorite song?

YSUF is a party because it wants to be. It is danced, questioned, discovered. We decide to dance – and also cry – but above all we keep the questions alive.
