La Menuda
La Menuda Produccions is a company specialized in creating performances and family concerts for early childhood, aimed at children aged 0 to 5. Their stage proposal is based on offering shared sensory experiences, where music, movement, and visual elements combine to create a poetic and immersive space between artists, children, and families.
Their shows are designed as holistic experiences that awaken the senses and create emotional connections with the youngest audiences. Proximity is one of their hallmarks: children and families are placed close to the musicians, performers, and instruments, generating an intimate atmosphere that fosters complicity, curiosity, and active listening.
In a society often saturated with screens and artificial stimuli, the company embraces a stage language rooted in simplicity, delicacy, and artistic honesty. With meticulous attention to detail and high musical and visual quality, La Menuda seeks to reclaim the essence of live performance, emphasizing art as a shared human experience.
Their first production, Madame Lumière, premiered in 2023 and was very well received within the early childhood sector, successfully touring festivals and specialized venues such as FETEN, FIM, and the Mostra d’Igualada, where the company had a highly enriching artistic and professional experience.
In 2025, La Menuda will premiere its new show, Lumiero, co-produced with the Temporada Alta Festival. This new piece deepens La Menuda’s poetic and sensory research, incorporating the gestural theater of clown Pere Hosta, an original musical composition performed live, and a refined scenography that enhances the visual and emotional dimension of the piece. Lumiero is a bold step toward consolidating a distinctive and demanding artistic language for early childhood audiences.
Lumiero
Residence October 2025
Lumiero is La Menuda Produccions’ second production and represents a step forward in the integration of physical theater into performance for the very young (ages 0–5). The show brings Lumiero to life through the character played by Pere Hosta, a lamplighter, whimsical inventor, and lover of light and shadow. This endearing figure conveys kindness, magic, and humor, delighting families and allowing young children to enjoy a gentle, immersive experience.
The poetic universe of Lumiero is enriched by the dance and stage presence of Lumina (Jana Noguera). Dance plays a key role, as it is one of the first expressive languages children intuitively understand and enjoy — just like adults.
The visual and emotional landscape is further enhanced by a tailor-made soundtrack (by Maria Cruz and Faló Garcia), capable of illuminating bright moments, softening shadows, animating projected silhouettes, and conveying the characters’ tenderness. Live music, performed by Maria Cruz (musical direction), Edgar Casellas, and Faló Garcia i Pellejà, includes a rich palette of timbres: cello, piano, toy pianos, saxophone, flute, musical saw, voices, guitars, percussion, and accordion.
Lighting and scenography play a crucial role. Light acts as the narrative thread, guiding the audience through the stories and inventions of the lamplighter. Jan Verdú, La Menuda’s head technician, designed lighting that creates magical, immersive environments. Fanny Espinet and David Faüchs (Art Estudi) crafted an evocative scenic space that brings this dreamlike universe to life.
