Anna Fontanet
Dancer, creator and independent artist from Barcelona. She initially received her professional training in contemporary dance in Barcelona until 2007.
From then on, she began an international journey in search of other ways of thinking and understanding dance. This is how she discovered the work of David Zambrano, Franseco Scavetta. Pep Ramis, Maria Muñoz, Crysa Parkinson, Juylen Hamilton, Nancy Stark, among others. The latter two, Nancy and Juylen, have especially influenced her work. Masters of instant composition and contact improvisation, respectively.
Graduated in graphic design from Elisava (Pompeu Fabra University), she combines these two artistic fields in her professional path. Since 2011, after completing the Master in Digital Arts at IDEC (Pompeu Fabra), she has incorporated sound composition and digital arts into her artistic projects.
She has collaborated with choreographers of international and national level as an independent dancer. And it is from 2017 that she begins her career as a creator with “Blanc Salvatge” (2018), “N.A.N” (2021) and “I escoltar l’herba com creix”.(2022).
As a sound artist for the living arts, she is interested in “Field recording” as a technique for collecting live sound material, as well as in the creation of self-generating instruments based on the experimentation of vibrational and gravitational sound forces in relation to physical bodies.
As a creator in the movement arts, she is interested in opening spaces of communication and dialogue, basing her creations on the use of the body as a tool to model space. Creating formal and aesthetic landscapes where you can inhabit and describe trajectories of movement while sounding and sonorizing the space.
“N.A.N” (Now ask nothing – Nothing ask now)

“N.A.N.” (Now ask nothing – Nothing ask now) was born from curiosity and interest in generating live soundscapes through dance and digital arts. Anna Fontanet, dancer, creator and artist, cohabits with the corporealities of voice, body and space.
Now is the field of work. Ask is the method for tracing the trajectory. Nothing is the origin and destiny.
From play and listening, she catalyzes voices and sounds, which cross her and transform her into a swing that goes from outside to inside and from inside to outside. From artificiality to organicity, she enters fields of exploration of existence itself in relation to sound as a form of thought. Each sound, each movement could be an autobiographical fragment.
“Dubito, ergo cogito, ergo sum” — I doubt, then I think, then I exist; It is through doubt that this dialogue between body and technology comes to life.
