A foc lent circ d’arrel

Creative processes of contemporary circus with traditional roots.

The company A foc lent was founded in 2021. Formed by Agustí Margarit and Magda Peralta, it is a company that develops creative processes in contemporary circus with live music and a clear transformative intention and, drawing inspiration from elements of Catalan folk culture, A foc lent aims to bring contemporary art closer to, and connect it with, the rural world.

Their first piece, La Sardana, premiered in its short-number version (approx. 10–12 minutes) at the Gala de Circ de Girona in March 2022. The full-length piece (35–40 minutes) is scheduled to premiere at the end of 2023.

Transhumància artificial 3.9

Residency January 2026

Transhumància Artificial 3.9 is a circus performance with a dystopian tone and touches of surrealism that invites the audience to question and reflect on the consequences of the imbalance between the natural and technological environments.

The show warns of the risk of an irreversible disconnection between human practices and their physical and community dimensions.

We are placed at the beginning of the 22nd century: after the third World Apocalypse, the supply of basic goods has collapsed and digital technology has become obsolete; farmers and herders had been warning of the disaster for decades, since the great droughts of the previous century. The new paradigm forces us to look back.

In this context, a future shepherd, solitary and transhumant, crosses a devastated landscape, seeking new ways to dodge boredom, fight depression, stimulate creativity and open new paths. The piece is a hybrid circus composition that explores the relationship between body, object and space through independent scenes — small capsules that travel through the artist’s universe and reveal its poetics.
