Fundació Oncolliga Girona

The Fundació Oncolliga Girona is a non-profit organization that was born in 2004 with the intention of giving a new boost to the work that the Catalan League of Cancer Support had been doing since 1996 to improve the quality of life of cancer patients and their relatives in the province of Girona. Over time, the organization has broadened its vision and has committed itself to promoting health and raising awareness in society, without forgetting its main purpose: to facilitate and make the lives of people who suffer from a oncological disease providing human and material resources to cover their needs.

International Charitable Dance Festival “Girona en Moviment”

The Fundació Oncolliga Girona had at its disposal the spaces of El Canal for a performance as part of the International Charitable Dance Festival “Girona en Moviment”, an event that has been held in the city of Girona since 2017. The festival was created together with the Cultura en Moviment Association with the aim of bringing the art of dance and renowned Catalan dancers closer to the province of Girona, as well as to raise funds for the fight against cancer. The festival aims to create links between dance and health, while relating the art of dance and body work to people’s physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. In addition, it has become a meeting place between Catalan and international dancers.

Dancers, teachers and international artists act selflessly in the festival to support the cause and the proceeds go entirely to projects of the Fundació Oncolliga Girona. Through a collaboration agreement, El Canal collaborated in the 2022 edition of the festival by offering its spaces and services.
