New Agreement between El Canal and the Street Arts Platform for the 2024 Edition of the competition Support for New Creations in Street Arts
The City Council of Salt, represented by Mayor Jordi Viñas, and the Associació Plataforma Arts de Carrer, chaired by Xavier Campón Brugada, have signed a collaboration agreement to promote the creation of new productions in street arts during the 2024 edition of the Support for New Creations in Street Arts competition.
This agreement establishes the basis for cooperation between El Canal, Salt-Girona Performing Arts Center, and the Street Arts Platform, with the aim of promoting the development of quality scenic projects and improving working conditions and professionalization of the sector in the Girona counties.
The Street Arts Platform, founded in 2015, brings together festivals, fairs and street art shows, and acts as a recognized interlocutor with various public administrations. This organization carries out and promotes the competition Support for New Creations in Street Arts, intended for theater companies, circus, dance, clowning, puppetry, visual arts and transdisciplinary works that are presented in public spaces.
The Canal, for its part, will provide the necessary facilities for the technical residence of the winning company of the competition. This residency will take place during 2025, with a maximum duration of one week, and will have the technical and scenic support of El Canal staff.
The collaborating entities undertake to work together to ensure the correct development of the planned activities and the promotion of the contest through their respective communication channels. Likewise, a monitoring commission will be created to guarantee the execution of the agreements established.
This agreement will be valid until December 31, 2025 and will contribute to strengthening the cultural and artistic fabric of the region, offering new opportunities for creation and exhibition for street arts.
