We start a new course and we open in Canal! With the desire to bring the performing arts closer and to make the creative processes more accessible, we organize a series of activities under the name Obert en Canal. The artists and companies who have done residency with us or will do so this autumn open the doors to their creative processes and their not yet finished projects. They also offer free and participatory workshops and activities around the performing arts.
We will premiere the Obert en Canal cycle next Wednesday, September 6, with a Workshop on human presence and sensuality. It will be taught by Olga Álvarez, choreographer and co-director of the company La Taimada. In this two-hour workshop we will work on movement from massage and body manipulation, we will reflect on concepts such as the embrace, the gaze, offering and sensuality. We will also do exercises on the presence and beauty of all bodies and bodily conditions and work on acceptance and renunciation. Places for this workshop are very limited and we encourage you to sign up here.
Other activities we will offer will be the Open Rehearsal of NODI: de gossos i “malditos” by the company La Moukhles & Sentís on the evening of September 15, a Stage Creation Workshop with Atresbandes on October 28, as well as the rehearsal open and a complementary talk about Com qui sent ploure, the new stage project of La Planeta’s Cicle Verbatim and co-produced by La Nave Va and El Canal.
