Singing workshop for schools by Momi Maiga

Momi Maiga is a Senegalese singer-songwriter musician based in Salt. Known for his virtuoso skill with Kora, and his ability to fuse traditional West African rhythms with contemporary jazz, flamenco and classical music influences. His compositions offer an immersive musical experience that has captivated audiences internationally. Momi Maiga creates a unique atmosphere in each performance, celebrating music and tradition with a message of unity and harmony. Accompanied by exceptional musicians such as Aleix Tobias (drums and pre-percussions), Carlos Montfort (violin and vocals) and Marçal Ayats (cello and vocals), his work transcends cultural borders and invites the audience to a vibrant and deep sound journey.

In this workshop Momi Maiga offers an immersive experience to students, introducing them to the music and culture of West Africa. Through hands-on activities, participants will learn about traditional instruments such as kora, African vocal techniques and distinctive rhythms. This workshop not only encourages musical learning, but also cultural understanding and respect for different traditions.
