Salt en dansa

Salt en Dansa celebrates its tenth edition — a community dance project included in the programme of Salt’s Festa Major, where the artists highlight dance and art as a means of personal and social transformation.

The project is structured around ten weekly two-hour workshops held at the Factoria Cultural Coma Cros in Salt during the months of May, June, and July. The workshops culminate in a weekend artistic residency at El Canal, where the work is finalised and shaped into a stage dance piece, presented to the public on the last day of the residency, July 27 at 7 PM.

The project is an initiative by the Salt City Council in collaboration with the artistic association Las Lo Las. It offers the opportunity for non-professionals to experience artistic creation following a professional approach.

Based on a concept proposed by the coordinating team (Montse Canals Rabasseda, Natalia Entrocassi, and this year with the collaboration of Lídia Matés Marín, and photographic documentation by Ramoin Falgàs Sidera), the participants decide on the theme that will be the core of the piece, its title, synopsis, costumes, and other essential elements. The final result is built from the artistic potential shown and developed by each participant, and from the work done during the weekly sessions focused primarily on dance techniques, improvisation, and instant composition. Some sessions are led by guest teachers from other techniques or disciplines.

Salt en Dansa is a moving experience that supports participants in stepping into new physical, emotional, and mental states through dance, enhancing their creativity, imagination, and decision-making skills.
