Open rehearsal of ‘Tribut to Rats’ by Las Espectadoras

Tribut to Rats is a piece that is born from a social and generational context that places issues of women’s bodies on everyone’s lips. It is also a tribute to all the people who at some point have felt identified with this animal and, therefore, have been excluded from the social context.

A stage duo starring Aina Minguell and Aitana López who come to life within the characters of Dolores and Angustia, two grandmothers who could perfectly be their possible fictional future grandmothers in the universe of the absurd, which leaves the real universe glimpsed. Two hopeless grandmothers who live inside two garbage cans decide to celebrate their last birthday at a fast food restaurant.

The key concept of the piece is the indefinition inherent to monstrosity and living on the margins of the social sphere, paying for rejection and the consequences of no longer being part. The dramaturgy aims to capture the essence and nuances of these two characters, the coexistence between them, between the outside world and the evolution of where this story of survival will take us.
