Open rehearsal of “Imaginary Sound” by Uku Pacha

Imaginary Sound is a sonic exorcism of the stage space. A work in search of lost sounds. Four women operate a listening laboratory installed in the stage space, rescuing the voices of the past. Here, they inhabit a state between reality and imagination, where past sounds are confused with present ones, one’s own voice with another’s voice, and memory with premonition. Among the sounds heard, the words of a female voice immerse them in its invocation of silence, and disappearance.

With the language of dance-theatre, and with the accompaniment of sound, the work immerses us in a cosmovision of our reality through the vision of sound. We are in the scenic space, the temple of sound. A space dedicated to the ritual of silence and listening, filled with sounds that shape an image of our reality far removed from our everyday perspective. Everything vibrates here. Everything is sound, and everything is made of sound. All the voices that have occupied the space before us are still there. It is a process of rediscovering scenic sounds and their ephemerality, but also an approach to a new way of understanding the fabric of reality, and every vibration that makes us up.
