Idiòfona is an attempt to make light of harshness, to find harmony in the midst of noise, to build a common vibration. But above all, an ode to the pleasure of sharing. Idiófona is a dialogue between man and matter during which a large sound installation is built in the public space with the participation of the audience.
Idiophones are those musical instruments that produce sound from the vibration, not from the vibrations of the strings, but from the entire body and matter of the object. Based on this concept, Joan Català has a proposal that invites a group of spectators chosen at random to give him a hand.
Joan Català presents his new project Idiòfona in open rehearsal format, with which the company takes up residence at El Canal this May. Attendance at the open rehearsal is free but tickets must be reserved via the link below.
