A new call for the Espais de Creació Program has been resolved, with a total of twenty-six companies accepted out of a total of thirty applications submitted. The projects that will benefit from this program will take up residence in El Canal between this December 2024 and December 2025.
Highlight the wide variety of artistic disciplines to which the projects that will be part of the program this year correspond. The proposals range from text and gesture theatre, to the circus, acrobatics and clown theatre, through contemporary dance and audiovisual installation.
To make the selection, the jury mainly evaluated the artistic interest of the proposals, but also the solvency of the creative team, the structure and support of the project, the relationship of the proposal with the values of El Canal, the artists’ link with Salt and Girona and the use of the Catalan language.
The Creative Spaces Program 2024-2025, which opened its call last May 24, offers the possibility of short artistic and technical stays in the different spaces of the facility with technical support. The selected companies will be able to work on the development of their performing arts projects until December 2025.
This is the second call for the program in question, since El Canal began implementing the new project, now three years ago, in support and promotion of the creation of the performing arts in the territory.
